The countdown to Beach Volleyball’s Commonwealth Games debut on the Gold Coast in April is well and truly on.

Australia will be ready both on and off the court having already hosted highly successful Federation Internationale De Volleyball (FIVB) World Tour events at Sydney’s Manly Beach and the Victorian town of Shepparton in 2017.

The fine tuning continues into 2018 with Shepparton again chosen to host international Beach Volleyball this February from Thursday the 1st to Sunday the 4th and tickets are now on sale.

The event will see teams competing from 19 countries, including big guns Canada, USA, Japan and as far away as Sweden and Germany.

A temporary purpose built stadium with two courts and a warm-up court with a 500-seat grandstand will be erected at the Victoria Park Lake precinct in Shepparton.

Australia’s top Helloworld Travel Volleyroos will be on show and again looking for double gold to show they are ready to take on the best of the Commonwealth in April.

The event will attract national and international TV and media exposure for not only Shepparton but also Australia and will generate over $1million in economic stimulation.

In conjunction with the World Tour there will be a Beach Carnival from the Friday afternoon through to the Sunday afternoon, making the international sporting event even more special for visitors to Greater Shepparton.

The Beach Carnival will have food trucks, bars, live music, and a kids carnival with free and low cost activities at Victoria Park Lake and Aquamoves.

Ticket sales are now available for the medal matches on Sunday, with free entry on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Limited tickets are available so organisers are urging people to “get in quick to avoid missing out.”
